The Canon G02 Maintenance Chip (MC-G02 Chip) is a small electronic chip attached to the maintenance box that monitors and records the waste ink level. It communicates with the printer to track usage during printhead cleaning cycles. When the chip reaches its limit, the printer stops working until the chip or maintenance box is replaced or reset.
